Surplus Wire Buyers for New York Hospitals, Universities and Campuses
Large institutions run continuous construction and maintenance programmes, which means they accumulate wire the way they accumulate furniture: in storage rooms, by project, with a fixed-asset process attached.
CONTEXT
How surplus accumulates here
Hospital and campus surplus is usually well documented and slow to dispose of. Material sits in a facilities storage area because the project it belonged to closed out, and nobody wants to be the person who declares it surplus without a paper trail. The wire itself is often new and tagged; the obstacle is internal process, not condition.
We review institutional surplus with the documentation an institution needs: a material description suitable for a disposal or asset-removal approval, photographs, and written terms that name what is being purchased and on what basis. We do not require the institution to break lots into single reels, and we do not ask for access beyond what its facilities team authorises.
Institutional surplus we review
- Renovation overage from a completed department or building project
- Maintenance stock from a facilities crib that is being consolidated
- Feeder and grounding conductor from an infrastructure upgrade
- Tray and control cable from a building-automation project
- Research and laboratory fit-out material that was never installed
What helps the review
- Project or cost-centre reference for the material
- Reel tags and part numbers, where retained
- Facilities contact and authorised access arrangements
- Any asset-tagging or disposal documentation the institution requires
Terms are agreed per transaction: price, payment timing, who arranges freight, who loads, and who accepts delivery. Nothing in this page is a standing offer or a guarantee of pickup.

Questions from this industry
Answers describe how material is reviewed. They are not an offer, a price or a commitment to purchase.
Can you supply documentation for an internal disposal approval?
Yes. A written description of the material, the proposed basis of purchase and the logistics plan is provided so the institution can route its own approval. The approval itself remains an internal decision.
Do you buy material held in a restricted clinical area?
Only where facilities authorises access and the material can be staged outside clinical space before loading. Clinical areas are not entered for material recovery.
Is research campus cable handled differently?
Specialised cable — instrumentation, low-voltage signal, specialty jacketing — is identified separately and reviewed on its construction rather than assumed to be building wire.
