High Voltage Cable Buyers in New York
Cable above 35 kV belongs to transmission and substation work, and it is bought and sold on documentation far more than on appearance. We review 46 kV, 69 kV, 115 kV and 138 kV constructions when the material is documented, unused and genuinely available.
WHAT WE REVIEW
High voltage: what we review
High voltage cable constructions include XLPE-insulated, lead-sheathed, corrugated aluminium sheathed and fluid-filled types, each with its own handling requirements and each restricted to the utility or industrial market that specified it. A reel without a tag in this category is close to unquotable, and that is a statement about the material, not about willingness to review it.
Send the reel tag, the manufacturer’s cable designation, the voltage class, conductor size and the test or acceptance documentation that travelled with the reel. If the cable has been energised, say so and provide the service history. Where documentation is incomplete, we will tell you what is missing before anyone spends money moving a reel that cannot be placed.
Formats accepted for review
- Unused reels with full documentation
- Project overstock from a transmission or substation build
- Cut lengths with a documented construction and test record
What to send
- Manufacturer cable designation and voltage class
- Sheath type and overall diameter
- Reel tag, date of manufacture and any test certificates
- Storage history, including whether the reel has been exposed to weather
No offer is made until someone has read the jacket legend or the reel tag. If neither survives, the material is still reviewable — it is simply reviewed as unidentified, and the outcome reflects that.

Send high voltage for review
Photographs of the reel tag and jacket legend are the fastest route to a review. Approximate footage is acceptable; a stated method is better than a confident guess.

High voltage — questions sellers ask
Answers describe how material is reviewed. They are not an offer, a price or a commitment to purchase.
Will you review high voltage cable without documentation?
It can be looked at, but it cannot be responsibly valued. Above 35 kV, the designation, test record and service history determine whether the cable is usable at all. Send what exists and we will identify what is missing.
Is energised-then-removed cable ever purchased?
Occasionally, for specific utility programmes, and only with a documented service history. It is not a routine purchase.
Who handles transport?
High voltage reels are moved on flatbed or lowboy equipment with proper securing, and the arrangement is agreed in writing per transaction, including who loads and who accepts delivery.
WHO SELLS THIS MATERIAL
Where this material usually comes from
Most lots arrive from one of four places: a contractor closing out a job, a plant replacing equipment, a distributor clearing slow stock, or a demolition project releasing cable legitimately. Each is reviewed on the same facts.

Have high voltage to sell?
Send the tag, the jacket print and an approximate count. If the material is a fit, price and logistics are agreed in writing before anything is loaded.
